Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation (AAF scholarship) scholarship is a scholarship opportunity specifically designed for Muslim students who study at some selected accredited and recognized universities in Nigeria.

The scholarship is in three different categories. 

The first category is for undergraduates studying in Federal Universities in Nigeria, the second is for undergraduates studying at the University of Maiduguri, and the last category is for undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Ede community.

The scholarship accepts students from 13 federal universities in Nigeria.

If you are selected for this scholarship, you will be given a one-time payment of N150,000-N200,000, which covers your entire study period.

If you are a Muslim, orphan and vulnerable student who study in any of these Universities in Nigeria, then you can apply for this scholarship

Eligibility Requirements for the AAF Scholarship

To become eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must meet the following requirements: scholarship types and categories. 

A.) Undergraduate Scholarship 

  1. Religion: You must be a Muslim living in Nigeria
  2. Study institution: You must be a bona fide student studying at any eligible federal university in Nigeria.
  3. CGPA: As an undergraduate, you must have a minimum of 3.5/5.0 CGPA, which is a second-class, upper division.
  4. Behaviour: You must be someone of good and upright character worth of emulation 

B.) undergraduate scholarship for the vulnerable and orphans 

  1. Religion: You must be a Muslim living in Nigeria 
  2. Study Institution: You must be a bona fide student at the University of Maiduguri.
  3. CGPA: As a student studying at the University of Maiduguri, you must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5/5.0 CGPA, which is a second-class lower division.
  4. Behaviour: You must have a good and reputable character.

C.) undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship for students from Ede origin.

  1. Religion: You must be a Muslim living in Nigeria 
  2. Origin: only students from Ede in Osun State are eligible for this scholarship.
  3. Study Institution: You must be a bonafide student of any eligible federal university in Nigeria before you can apply for either the undergraduate or postgraduate (master’s or PhD) scholarship.
  4. CGPA: You must maintain a Minimum of 2.5/5.0 CGPA in your current studies.
  5. Graduation Grade: You must have also graduated with a minimum of 3.5/5.0 CGPA, which is a second-class upper division from a Federal University in University in Nigeria if you want to apply for your Master’s or PhD program.
  6. Behaviour: Must be a person of sound and good character

How to Apply for AAF Scholarship 

The following guidelines will help you in registering for this scholarship with ease

  1. Visit scholarship portal: Visit the scholarship portal and create an account using your email address.
  2. Select scholarship category: After registering on the portal, you will select the scholarship category for which you want to apply.
  3. Fill out the application form: fill out your personal and academic details in the application form correctly.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload the needed documents in PDF format.
  5. Review and submit: Review your application to make necessary corrections and submit.
  6. Print application form: After successfully submitting the form, you are to download it in PDF format, print it out and go along with it during the interview/ aptitude test

The foundation was established in 2014 with the aim of helping Muslim scholars have a good and comfortable education while studying their desired courses in Nigerian universities. It also tends to provide job and employment opportunities.

This scholarship, which is organized annually, is accessible to all admitted Muslim students at the first, second, third, and final year levels of tertiary institutions.

Students who are previous beneficiaries of this scholarship are not eligible for this scholarship offer.

After completing the scholarship application, you will receive an email notification informing you of the date and venue for the aptitude test.

The aptitude test consists of a set of questions on verbal, quantitative reasoning, and general studies/ current affairs. Many past questions can help you pass the test successfully.

Studying these past questions carefully will help you become familiar with their format and also help you score higher on the test, as most questions are repeated yearly.

After taking the test, you will be notified if you are selected, and the foundation will pay the scholarship funds directly to the bank account you submitted during the scholarship application stage.
