The 2024 Malaysia International Scholarship is currently open to qualified and eligible international Students who want to carry out their postgraduate studies in accredited and recognized Universities in Malaysia.
The Scholarship is initiated by the Malaysian Government and funded through its Ministry of Education with the aim of bringing in brilliant students from around the world to study at its University.
It is not a fully funded scholarship, but funds will be provided which cover some academic expenses throughout your entire study period.
Only international students who are enrolled in a full-time Master’s or PhD program in the various eligible Malaysian Universities are allowed to apply for this Scholarship.
The duration of this Scholarship for the Master’s program is 24 months (2 years), while that of the PhD program lasts for 36 months ( 3 years).

Benefits of Malaysia International Scholarship
You will be entitled to the following benefits if you are awarded the Scholarship
- Tuition fees for the sponsorship period will be paid directly to your study university upon the issuance of an invoice by the MOHE of your University.
- Monthly living allowance of RM 1,500 per month will be given to you every semester upon your submission of your academic progress report to MOHE.

Eligibility Requirements for Malaysia International Scholarship
The following are eligible requirements for the Malaysia International Scholarship
- Nationality: This Scholarship is open to citizens of all countries around the world.
- Admission: You must be admitted to study a full time postgraduate course in any of the Scholarship’s eligible universities in Malaysia.
- Age: You should be between 40-45 years as of the time of application.
- Academic Qualification: You must have a minimum of 3.0 or second-class upper honor in your bachelor’s degree program when applying for the Master’s program and a minimum of 3.0 or distinction in your Master’s degree result when applying for the PhD program.
- English Proficiency: The primary language of communication is English; you must be able to speak, write, and speak in it fluently.
- English Test Score: If you are from a non English speaking country, you will need to undergo an English test(TOEFL or IELTS) and obtain an excellent score before you can become eligible to apply.
- Research Proposal: You are mandated to submit a research proposal of a minimum of 1,000 words that is relevant to your field of study.

Final Thought
The application phase for the Malaysia International Scholarship is currently ongoing, with the application deadline slated for June 30, 2024.
You are to fill all necessary Information in the application form and have all the needed documents scanned and uploaded in PDF format in the online application portal.
You are allowed to apply to up to three Malaysian universities. Still, you will be allowed to carry out your studies program in only one of these universities if awarded this Scholarship.
After the scholarship application deadline, you will be contacted via your email address if you are qualified and eligible to move to the next phase of the Scholarship’s selection process.
You will be selected based on your outstanding academic/co-curricular achievement, the quality of your research proposal, and your excellent communication, writing, and reading skills in the English Language.
After being selected, you are to independently arrange your travel trip and prepare your student visa to Malaysia, as the scholarship program will not cover this.
You are also advised to check the living expenses in the country, as the Scholarship does not also provide enough funds which covers all your living expenses.
