The Stanbic IBTC Scholarship offers  Nigerian students in any selected university within the 36 states of the country an opportunity to study for free without any financial constraints or limitations.

The scholarship program for this year is given to undergraduate students who participated in the just concluded  2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and have been offered admission to study any desired course in any federal or state university in Nigeria.

Those undergoing a part-time program or admitted to the university through direct entry are not eligible for this scholarship opportunity.

The Stanbic IBTC Scholarship tends to encourage hard work and produce undergraduates with academic excellence and leadership skills that will make them productive in their respective fields.

The scholarship is not a fully funded program but a fund of about N80M, which will be evenly disbursed to 200 selected applicants across the various States in Nigeria, including FCT Abuja, in order to provide financial support to selected applicants till they graduate. 

If you are selected for this scholarship, you will be provided with financial assistance which will cater for most of your academic expenses throughout a period of four years.

Apart from the funds provided for the scholarship, you will also gain access to a job opportunity at Stanbic IBTC Bank.

There is no age limit associated with applying for this scholarship, provided you meet the various requirements and criteria.

Eligibility Requirements for Stanbic IBTC Scholarship

To become eligible to able for the 2024 Stanbic IBTC Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria 

  1. Nationality: You must be a citizen of Nigeria who is currently living in the country.
  2. Entrance Examination: To be able to apply for the scholarship, you must have participated in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which is a criteria for university admission in Nigeria.
  3. Admission: You must have been given admission by any accredited federal or state University within the country for a full-time study program as of the time of applying for this scholarship.
  4. Academic Grade: You must have a UTME result with a minimum score of 250 with a minimum O’ level result of 5 credits (including Mathematics, English Language).
  5. Stanbic IBTC Personnel: Workers at Stanbic IBTC or anyone related to the organization are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

How to Apply for Stanbic IBTC Scholarship 

The following is a step-by-step guideline on how you can successfully apply for this scholarship.

  1. Visit Scholarship Portal: Visit the Scholarship application portal to get started.
  2. Fill Application form: Read the instructions carefully and fill out the application form starting with your personal details and that of your parents/guardian.
  3. Complete Other Personal Information: Complete other details by selecting your state of origin, your gender, and the year you wrote your UTME.
  4. Academic Details: Provide your UTME score, UTME registration Number, your O’Level Registration Number, and select if you have been admitted to any Nigerian University 
  5. Select Study University: Select the university where you have been given an offer of admission.
  6. Upload Document: Upload the required documents for the scholarship.
  7. Submit: Review and Submit your application.

Stanbic IBTC Scholarship is a program periodically organized and sponsored by Stanbic IBTC Holdings in line with its fulfillment of the Civil and Social responsibility to individuals living in its country of operation.

Since its inception, a lot of  Undergraduates have benefited from this opportunity, which has helped them immensely in achieving their educational goals.

The application phase for this scholarship opens on 29 May to 30 June 2024 with, no application will be accepted after the application expiration date.

Scholarships will only be given to applicants who follow the application instructions and meet all eligibility requirements.

All Documents are to be submitted in PDF/JPEG format with a size not exceeding 200KB.

In a scenario where you apply for the scholarship through more than one platform or submit more than one application, you will not be disqualified but rather be entitled to only one scholarship slot if shortlisted as a beneficiary.

You will be notified by the scholarship committee through your email address provided during the application phase if you are selected for the scholarship.

Your scholarship award will be renewed yearly based on your academic record and the decision of the scholarship committee.

Undergraduates in Federal Colleges and Polytechnics in Nigeria are not eligible to apply for this scholarship opportunity.
